The American Indian Studies Program is launching a new workshop series called AIS.In.Progress, where faculty and graduate students can workshop drafts of articles, chapters, creative works, job applications, talks, frybread recipes, etc..
The first professionalization workshop will focus on the academic job market and will be co-facilitated by Professor Jenny Davis (Chickasaw) and AIS Interim Director Dustin Tahmahkera (Comanche).
For this introductory workshop, current or future job seekers are encouraged, though not required, to bring drafts of application letters, CVs, and other application materials and their questions and experiences to interact with American Indian Studies faculty in a conversational setting.
The first workshop is set for Wednesday, October 9, 12-2pm, at La Casa Cultura Latina.
As this is a recurring series, we invite all University of Illinois colleagues to contact John McKinn if you would like to be added to a mailing list for future workshops and events.
