The core faculty of the American Indian Studies Program supports the efforts of the Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition (NTFC) to negotiate a fair first contract with the University. These non-tenure-track faculty colleagues are critical to the academic mission of this institution.
We urge President Timothy Killeen and Interim Vice President and Chancellor Barbara Wilson to use this legitimate job action as an opportunity to begin acting in good faith toward our unionized colleagues without further unhelpful and unproductive actions clearly meant to cause delay.
NTCF has shown itself to have serious demands and intentions. The campus now needs leadership in upper administration willing to match the sincerity and good faith of these valued teachers and researchers.
