American Indian Studies and the Native American House joined a National Congress of American Indian (NCAI)-Tribal Amicus Brief that was filed Friday, October 16, 2009.

Along with Native American Rights Fund, NCAI, and other national and tribal organizations, American Indian Studies (AIS) and Native American House (NAH) formally participated in the US Supreme Court amicus brief in support of Suzan Shown Harjo’s trademark lawsuit against the National Football League.

NAH joins Native Americans at Brown and Native Americans at Dartmouth as the only student-based higher education programs to take part, and AIS is the sole academic program among the amici (friends of the court).
